Promise and Instruction from God

Exodus 24:20-33

I will send angel ahead of you to protect you as you travel and to bring you to the place which I have prepared. Pay attention to him and obey him.

Do not rebel against him, for I have sent him and he will not pardon such rebellion. But if you obey him and do everything I command, I will fight against all your enemies. My angel will go ahead of you and take you into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, and I will destroy them.

Do not bow down to their gods or worship them, and dot adopt their religious practices.
Destroy their gods and break down their sacred stone pillars. If you worship me, the LORD your God, I will bless you with food and water and take away all your illness. In your land no woman will have a miscarriage or be without children. I will give you long lives.

I will make the people who oppose you afraid of me; I will bring confusion among the people against whom you fight, and I will make all your enemies turn and run from you, I will throw your enemies into panic; I will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites as you advance. I will not drive them out within one year; If I did the land would become deserted, and the wild animals would be too many for you. Instead, I will drive them out little by little, until there are enough of you to take possession of the land.

I will make the borders of your land extend from the Gulf of Aqaba to the Mediterranean Sea and from the desert to the Euphrates River. I will give you power over the inhabitants of the land, and you will drive them out as you advance. Do not make any agreement with them or with their gods. Do not let those people live in your country; if you do, they will make your Sins against me. If you worship their gods, it will be a fatal trap for you”.

May the LORD bless his Word, Amen.

The Ten Commandments of God

Exodus 29:1-17

God spoke, and these were his words: “I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves.

” Worship no god but me”.
” Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth. or in the water under the earth. Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the LORD your God and I tolerate no rivals. I bring punishment on those who hate me and on their descendants down to the third and fourth generations. But I show my love to thousands of generations” of those who love me and obey my laws.

Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the LORD your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name.
Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to work, neither you, your children, your slaves, your animals, nor the foreigners who live in your country.

In six days I, the LORD, blessed the Sabbath and made it holy.
Respect your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that I am giving you.

“Do not commit murder”
“Do not commit adultery”
“Do not steal”
“Do not accuse anyone falsely”
“Do not desire another man’s house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns”.

May the LORD bless his word, Amen.

The LORD Prepares to Rescue his People

Isaiah 59:16-21

The LORD has seen this, and he is displeased that there is no justice. He is astonished to see that there is no one to help the oppressed. So he will use his own power to rescue them and to win the victory.

He will wear justice like a coat of armour and saving power like a coat of armour and saving power like a helmet. He will clothe himself with the strong desire to set things right and to punish his enemies according to what they have done, even those who live in distant lands. From east to west everyone will fear him and his power. He will come like a rushing river, like a strong wind.

The LORD says to his people, I will come to Jerusalem to defend you and to save all of you that turn from your Sins. And I make a covenant with you.

I have given you my power and my teachings to be yours forever, and from your children and your descendants to obey me for all time to come.

May the Lord bless his word, Amen

A Strong Bible Text for God’s Protection Amidst Attacks fro the Enemy

Psamls 91:1-16

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the Fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor the arror that flies by day.
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, and then thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD who is my refuge, even the Most High your dwelling place.

No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For he shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

” Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him and show him My salvation.

May the LORD Bless his word, Amen.

The Wicked One

2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-12

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to be with him: I beg you, my brothers and sisters, not to be so easily confused in your thinking or upset by the claim that the Day of the Lord has come. Perhaps it is thought that we said this while prophesying or preaching, or that we wrote it in a letter. Do not let anyone decieve you in any way.

For the Devil will not come until the final Rebellion takes place and the Wicked One appears, who is destined for hell. He will oppose every so called God or object of worship and will put himself above them all. He will even go in and sit down in God’s Temple and claim to be God.

Don’t you remember? I told you all this while I was with you. Yet there is something that keeps this from happening now, and you know what it is. At the proper time, then, the wicked one will appear. The mysterious wickedness is already at work but what is going to happen will not happen until the one who holds it back is taken out of the way.

Then the Wicked One will be revealed, but when the Lord Jesus comes, he will kill him with the breath from his mouth and destroy him with his dazzling presence. The wicked One will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false miracles and wonders and use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish.

They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false. The result is that all who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in sin, will be condemned.

May the Lord Bless his Word, Amen

King Solomon Prays for Wisdom

2 Chronicles 1:1-12

Solomon, the son of King David, took firm control of the kingdom of Israel, and the LORD his God blessed him and made him very powerful.
King Solomon gave an order to all the officers in charge of units of a thousand men and of a hundred men, all the government officials, all the heads of families, and all the heads of families, and all the rest of the people, commanding them to go with him to the place of worship at Gibeon.

They went there because that was where the Tent of the LORD’s presence was located, which Moses, the LORD’s servant had made in the wilderness. (The Covenant Box, however, was in Jerusalem, kept in a tent which king David had set up when he brought the Box from Kiriath Jearim.) The bronze altar which had been made by Bezalel, the son of Uri and grandson of Hur, was also in Gibeon in front of the Tent of the LORD’s presence,
King Solomon and all the people worshipped the LORD there. In front of the Tent, the king worshipped the LORD by offering sacrifices on the bronze altar; he had a thousand animals killed and burned whole on it.

That night God appeared to Solomon and asked, “What would you like me to give you?”
Solomon answered, “You always showed great love for my father David , and now you have let me succeed him as King. O LORD God, fulfil the promise you made to my father. You have made me king over a people who are so many that they cannot be counted, so give me the wisdom and knowledge I need to rule over them. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?”.

God replied to Solomon, “You have made the right choice. Instead of asking for wealth or treasure or fame or the death of your enemies or even for long life for yourself, “you have asked for wisdom and knowledge so that you can rule my people, over whom I have made you king. And in addition, I will give you more wealth, treasure, and fame than any king has ever had before or will ever have again”.

May the LORD bless his word, Amen.

King Solomon’s Wealth

1 Kings 10:14-29
Every year King Solomon received almost 23,000 kilogrammes of gold in addition to the taxes paid by merchants, the profits from trade and tribute paid by the Arabian kings and the governor’s of the Israelites districts.
Solomon made 200 large shields, and had each one overlaid with almost 7 kilogrammes of gold. He also made 300 smaller shields, overlaying each one of them with almost 2 kilogrammes of gold. He had all these shields placed in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon.
He also had a large throne made. Part of it was covered with the finest gold. The throne had six steps leading up to it, with the figure of a lion at each end of every step, a total of twelve lions. At the back of the throne was the figure of a bull’s head, and beside each of the two arms was the figure of a lion. No throne like this had ever existed in any other kingdom.
All of Solomon’s drinking cups were made of gold, and all the utensils in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold.No silver was used , since it was not considered valuable in Solomon’s day. He had a fleet of ocean going ships sailing with Hiram’s fleet. Every three years his fleet would return, bringing gold, silver, ivory apes and monkeys.
King Solomon was richer and wiser than any other King, and the whole world wanted to come and listen to the wisdom that God had given him.
Everyone who came brought him a gift articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons, spices, horses and mules.
This continued year after year
Solomon built up a force of 1,400 chariots and 12,000 cavalry horses. Some of them he kept in Jerusalem and the rest he stationed in various other cities. During his reign, silver was as common in Jerusalem as stone, and cedar was as plentiful as ordinary sycamore in the foothills of Judah. The kings’s agents controlled the export of horses from Musri and Cilicia and the export of chariots from Egypt. They supplied the Hottie and Syrian kings with horses and chariots, selling chariots for 600 pieces of silver each and horses for 150 each.

May the Lord bless his Word, Amen.

The New Creation

ISAIAH 66:17-25
The LORD says “I am making a new earth and new heavens. The events of the past will be completely forgotten.
Be glad and rejoice for ever in what I create. The new Jerusalem I make will be filled with joy and her people will be happy. I myself will be filled joy because of Jerusalem and her people.
There will be no weeping there, no calling for help. Babies will no longer die in infancy, and all people will live out their life span. Those who live to be a hundred will be considered young. To die before that would be a sign that I had punished them. People will build houses and live in them themselves, they will not be used by someone else. They will plant vineyards and enjoy the wine, it will not be drunk by others. Like trees, my people will live long lives. They will fully enjoy the things that they have worked for. The work they do will be successful and their children will not meet with disaster. I will bless them and their descendants for all time. Even before they finish praying to me, I will answer their prayers. Wolves and lambs will eat together; lions will eat straw, as cattle do, and snakes will no longer be dangerous. On Zion, my sacred hill there will be nothing harmful or evil.”

May the Lord bless his Word, Amen.

Hearing and Doing What God says in his Word

James 2:19-27
Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Human anger does not achieve God’s righteous purpose .
So get rid of every filthy habit and all wicked conduct . Submit to God and accept the word that he plants in your hearts, which is able to save you.
Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice . Whoever listens to the word but does not put it into practice is like a man who looks in a mirror and sees himself as he is. He takes a good look at himself and then goes away and at once forgets what he looks like. But those who look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, who keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into practice, they will be blessed by God in what they do.
Do any of you think you are religious? If you do not control your tongue, your religion is worthless and you deceive yourselves. What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their sufferings and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world.

May the Lord bless his Word, Amen

Faith and Wisdom

James 1:1-8
My brothers and sisters, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind.
People like that, unable to make up their minds and undecided in all they do, must not think that they will receive anything from the Lord.

May the Lord bless his Word, Amen
